Last day of the Presidio

I shot this photo on the day the Presidio was handed over to the National Park Service. A two-hundred year old military presence came to an end on this day. There was not one single representative of the San Francisco or otherwise media there to cover the hand-over. Except me. This 105mm cannon had been used daily to fire a salute at the lowering of the flag. The Park Service wouldn't be needing it. That there was no official recognition on the part of the City of San Francisco, which has received so much from the military over the years, shows the contempt the ruling clique of The City holds for America and for the American military in particular. A hatred of America is the defining characteristic of the San Francisco inner circle.
