Campbell Creek runs through the middle of Anchorage. I shot this photo while on a bicycle ride, 15 minutes from home. An excellent bike trail follows the creek. Despite the wilderness appearance, residential housing is not far away, and major roads are also close. It is a credit to this cow moose that she's raised both calves. There are bears in the area, but even worse are the roads. There are many collisions between moose and speeding cars in Anchorage. Note the cocked ears. The calves are saying "Mom, who is that man?" Mom answers "Don't look at him. He's some kind of weirdo."
