I got to know this girl who sold watermelons at one of the Dubrovnik markets. She was about 10 and one of the nearby ladies told me she was from a village in Montenegro. She ran her business very effectively and paid porters to bring her melons from her storage in the back. She was also babysitting a sibling about four....I enjoyed talking to her because she was such a character. She'd be in her late thirties now and I'd like to see her again.
