One thing about the Rajneeshis, they really knew their civil engineering. They built a modern and efficient city capable of handling nearly 60,000 people in a very short time with minimal impact on the environment. They obviously had a wealth of knowledgeble people among the followers. Some 10 years later, while covering the war in Bosnia, I observed a high-up UNHCR official that I recognized from Rajneeshpuram. So the UN was probably one place where they got their experience.
