The future looks good as mom considers the pantry. The hatchling is about 5 days out of the egg and there's plenty of food. Last year the nest failed after about 10 days due to lack of fish. The Summers, as I call this pair, moved their nest from several miles up a stream down to this rock pillar at the very shore. One egg has yet to hatch but the food supply suggests this is a year of bounty.
