Seems to me it would faster to swim in a Speedo than wear a wetsuit. How much faster is a wetsuit in a 1500 meter swim? I've seen some weird things in triathlons, particularly back in the 80s, but I've never seen anybody do the whole race in a wetsuit. Water at 60 degrees is quite comfortable if you are acclimated. In fact, even 45 degrees is OK if you get in everyday....and have your own personal built-in wetsuit like I do. Check out this photo: http://www.pbase.com/zidar/image/23607379
