I got an assignment to cover the '77 nationals in Seattle from Bike World Magazine. No day rate, just space....looking at my images 35 years later I can't believe how little film I shot. But I got a lot of nice photos, many of them great historical documents. Hopefully, I'll get help identifying the riders and the races they are riding. As I go thru the negatives I'm reminded how simple it was to shoot the nationals. I don't remember having any credentials, I just showed up and introduced myself to the officials. The only other photographer I recall being there is Robert F. George, whose wife was the publisher of Velo News....I think. No mainstream media at all. I shot both black and white and color. The color was for the magazine covers and I got two very nice ones. Inside the magazine ran only black and white. The color slides are somewhere in the great vault of fotos and I'll come across them shortly. For the time being, Tri-X only.
