Free Range Carrots

Thinning out the carrots, beets and chard
mostly to harvest greens for a Veggie Broth.
The carrots were so crowded I did not expect this.
Always a nice surprise when something pops out.
Life long gardener and still get excited when
I in put seeds in the ground and they come up.
Happens everywhere but when it's my garden
it's a moment of joy. Life is short so
I'll take those moments where I can!

I hated being sent out to dig carrots and beets in the winter rain and cold when I was in grade school. The worst part was washing them with the garden hose before bringing them for Mom's inspection. My outlook on home grown produce has improved since then ;)
