False Spring

Seeing a bright light in the south facing window
I looked out and the snow was starting to recede into the
ground to bring an early start to the mud season.
Shielding my eyes I ventured outside to explore the
the changes wrought by the weather.
Spotting a flash of white that wasn’t snow.
An Irish Daisy was surrounded by quickly melting
patches of snow and blooming as if to say
“That’s all you got Winter? Bring it on!”
I didn’t have the heart to tell it that it was
a little early to the dance and just decided to enjoy
the sunshine because all we have is this moment!

One of the “Cabin Fever” photos!
