Introducing Next Years Model

Future queen fattening up and will soon be looking for
a dry place to spend the winter, most likely in my fire wood stack.
If she makes it to next spring she’ll be looking in the usual spots to nest.
The odds are against her but enough of her kind will make it to carry on.

Olympus Stylus TOUGH TG-850
1/320s f/5.2 at 8.7mm iso125 full exif

other sizes: small medium large auto

Fantastic close up shot of this wasp!! Amazing clarity and detail. Wasps have a bad rap, but they are prime pollinators, and most can't even sting, though this one can. It is a beauty! V
