This is the first place we have lived where we could see trees
we planted get big enough to have an effect on the surrounding area.
I have always planted trees every place I have lived even when renting
but then moving on would never get to see the results.
When we bought where we are now the first thing I did
was plant trees, somewhere around 200 the first year.
Now many years later we are amazed how many birds have
moved in and feel pretty good when we look up and see birds.
Doves, jays, robins, crows, hummers and countless others
finding refuge here in the trees and hedges.
Even the hawks come floating through and if they roost the
crows or jays tell all the others about it and haze it until
it departs under duress and peace is restored.
It has been interesting to see how it has changed.
Plant a tree!
Better yet!
Plant a grove!
