I guess they call them Landfills now!
Out here on the Olympic Peninsula
we actually go to the transfer station.
You pull into a building and toss your trash on the floor.
They push the trash into the corner were it is compacted
and put on semi trailers then they haul it down to Tacoma where
it is put on a train. The train takes the trailers down to the Columbia River
were they put the trailers of trash on a barge that takes it east up river
They unload it and take it by train and truck out to eastern Oregon and
bury it out there far from anyones back yard! For this privilege they charge a
$170.00 +++ per ton tipping fee that is always going up!

Why? Well this all started when the FAA started talking about the seagulls
gathering near the airport...... yep! You guessed it!
The airport is next to the dump!
This is why do we bury our trash 500 miles away....
It's so we can have an international airport that has no regularly scheduled flights!


Moral of the story is when people from the Government show up and start
waving their arms around, it's gonna cost someone money!
