Maria del Santa Clara

In Santa Clara, California, Mother Mary stands thirty-two feet high* before the Our Lady of Peace
Shrine. Cast entirely in stainless steel, she weighs 7200 pounds and towers over the neighboring
headquarters of Yahoo! on the Great American Parkway, visible from Highway 101 North.

*The icon with a halo of stars is much smaller, perhaps 8 or 9 feet tall.

nice pictures. the shrine is called Our Lady of Peace and is part of Our Lady of Peace parish. Msgr. Sweeney, who is sick and needs prayers, lead the parish when the shrine was built. I've posted some of my shots of the shrine at
