20050808 / nothingman

she once believed in every story he had to tell.
one day she stiffened. she took the other side.
empty stares from each corner of a shared prison cell.
one just escapes. one's left inside the well.

and he who forgets will be destined to remember.

Nice pic... great moody look.. Ganesha- the Hindu elephant God of new Beginnings!
the word- script on the left means"fearless" and to the right" undefeatable or invincible"... on old wise saying says "that which does not bother about loss or gain-- or about winning or losing... (and just does the work needed to be done) --cannot be defeated"
cheers

like the starkness and punch the black and white brings to this great composition

Wonderful detail.

The black and white really brings out the detail.
Wow! What an amazing tatoo. Beautiful work of art.

i'd never have a tattoo done because I hate needles and things, but the artwork and detail on this one is amazing.

nothing to add to what have already been said.
Great choice of the b&w and intriguing "self-protrait".

Beautiful to see "you" Chris. Please accept this humble vote.

Bhai, not only had I not realized that this Ganpati tatoo was yours, but that this is the sum of the parts of the tattoo images in your Hinduism gallery. Excellent shot, and treatment, but the real power in this image for me lies in the words inscribed in Sanskrit - Abhayam Aparjit. I had to consult my mom on the translation and meaning. ;) It's like Kal said, this tatoo, and the words, give great insight into who you are. And let's not forget the tattoo artist who has done exquisite work here!

Very nice, Chris! The B&W does bring out a lot of detail!
jude09-Aug-2005 02:01
I looked but I didn't find a photo where I can see your ink while seeing most of your body.. i'm not sure where these are.. and I'm curious. I like the definition.. the b&w treatment brings that contrast out.

Very incongruous, becasue tis is as much a portrait of you as it is of the tatoo Chris. You tell us someting of yourself when you show us this tatoo. You are the canvas and you wear the art on your sleeve.
Susanne09-Aug-2005 00:34
You did an exceptional job on taking a picture of your tatoo. I love the toning in this image. it is perfect, Chris. The detail is just amazing. GMV.
