This is one serious surf meister :-0 There are different impressions from each version.The top one to me seems more amusing ,almost campy.The natural light and flash are from different directions.So the crisp SP subject seems pasted onto a museum backdrop. Like if you stood in front of a picture.Although your not of course.Which I think is a cool mind play bender.Because the B&W unifies the second version in terms of tones, it has more apparent continuity, more pseudo au natural look.And the story of those youthful skin tones,SP expression and sheer spunk speak more strongly against the harsh surf 'n'turf in B&W.I like the color version more because it has that loud outspoken brash daredevil attitude with California color.It is more jarring emotionally than the B&W version for me.Very cool :-)

Cool one Chris, I prefer the monotone version, these almost look like they have been studio shot with a backdrop. I take it that's cloud and not a big wave on the horizon :)

Smart SP there, stud. Love the way the action of the waves behind seems to converge on the face. The sunglasses and "I'm tha man" grin top it off.

Hmm.. with the toned one.. You sort of come to the foreground a bit more.. (almost like you're standing in front of a big scenic poster somewhere) The color one.. you seem more 'in' the picture... I kinda like the color one a bit more meself.. ;)

I think I am the only one that likes the color version better. It is so sharp it feels like you are in the room. I was looking for a surfboard!
