200504230 / The Moment

The moment the words left her lips
His eyes dropped
He knew this all along
No one ever falls out of love
How does that make sense?
You fall in love and, for a time,
You revel in the feeling that
You don’t need to be in control
Common sense thrown,
He gave her his heart on an afternoon
Just like this one
He needs time to breathe
Before she says the inevitable

“You’re going to meet someone really special. Perfect for you. I know it.”

________
After the heartbreak, I turned the camera to photograph the weekend tourists Down On The Corner
Please take a look. Tell me what you think.

Nikon D70
1/40s f/5.6 at 300.0mm full exif

You never know what to expect when you venture into somebody's home page. One of your early candids still stands the test of time.

What is he lookin' at? Not her eyes. Well done and seen.

Superb prose!!! The word adds power to the image.Would also like to view this image in B&W to emphasize the "conversation" and decrease the color impact.Well seen moment :-)

Been there.. had it done. How could he resister her perfect cheeks.. and red braid.?
But I think maybe you've misunderstood..
He's looking at her breasts and she's saying 'HEY I'M UP HERE!!"

Been there, done that.
Beautiful words Chris.
Do you mind if I call you the Motown Surfer Poet?

I thought she was saying "my eyes are up here". You may be right, though!

I like what you wrote with this picture. I think I said this line before once or twice. Not wanting to hurt the person whom you were with for a while, of course, knowing that no matter what you will say pain will be there....on both sides. Great image, truly given you the feel as if you are listening to that conversation.
