20050421 / Denial

where the boneyard meets the mountain
an eroding faith survives
it thrives on hunger
feeds on swell
sustaining peace
and a beat-down pride

red and yellow
black and blue
aloud and mellow
torn and true

two steps past the world's end
an about-face exposed the lie
I stand on fabrication
thin air, and an empty sky
defeat repeat
deny

red and green
black and white
blood and envy
love and spite

The combination of images to words is wonderful; I have seent hat in other captures you have on site. The angled comp is wonderful and the furled flags edging the image simply asks the viewer in to see more! Love these shots! ~ Jeanne

I really like the composition in this image. I like the colors too, that really far blue sky to one side and how those flags come into play of this picture. This picture has many great aspects to it.

Well I don't personally see the connection, but I love the photo and the words.
This looks like such a California shot with the Golden Bear flag and the palm. The tatters on the flags say something else, I'm not sure what. Maybe that's the relationship to the poem.
I'm thinking you wrote that poem. It's good.
