Looks a sleepy place.

Chris,

Carpinteria promotes itself in a number of ways in an effort to compete for tourists with nearby Santa Barbara, Summerland, and Montecito. Carpinteria has an annual Avocado festival where they exhibit the world's largest bowl of guacamole -- it's like a small swimming pool filled with it -- really pretty gross actually.

And of course, Carpinteria is "The World's Safest Beach".

Jeremy,

Right down the street from Gilroy, but Carpinteria and Goleta are a pretty fair hike down the road from here. ...and I thought Carpinteria was more famous as the Sexwax capitol of the world. :)

Very nice mood. I like the wave sequence very much, great light!

Again, very nice sequence Chris, looks like you are enjoying your new camera a lot!

Still laughing at Jude. Great shot Chris, I never even knew there was an artichoke capital of the world!

I've been through this place a few times.
I think it's not too far from the Garlic Capital of the World (Gilroy), the Avocado Capital (Carpinteria), and the Lemon Capital (Goleta).
And of course, there's the annual Grape Festival in my old home town, Lodi.

Good comp & mood here. Nice job.

It looks like an old photo, even with the newer vehicles. You created an excellent mood.

What Jude-MC said, also a very nice image, black and white rules.

that would be auto-erotic asphixiation. sorry. my .. er... bad
jude24-Mar-2005 04:18
this isn't where auto-asphixiation was invented.. was it?

Ohhh artichoke! sorry.. :B

Love the b&w tones.. (am I redeeming myself?) lol

Nice treatment with the b/w, with the sign.. it gives it an old fashioned feel. (drooling over the words Artichoke Festival tho.. and making a mental note of the date. lol)
