20050305 / No Obstacle

Ganesha (Ganapati to some) is one of the most popular dieties
in the Hindu pantheon. Some say the most popular. A
devotee prays to Ganesha first when embarking on any new
venture. For me, he represents a turning point in my
life--that it is alright to ask for help and that
there are no guarantees. A glance to my left will
reassure me of that the rest of my life.

Thanks again, Donna, for the excellent idol.

This is a wonderful photo and description. It is the "overcoming obstacles" part that I think suits you so very well.

I really like the explaination for what the figure stands for. I love how you allowed some light to shine directly against the statue and how you applied the light in the background, part shadow and part light. Very nice. I would think that this is also very comforting to have something to believe in.
