Nicely composed, even if by accident.

There are times when words are insufficient. This is one of those times. VOTED!!

Chris - this is simply superb. Everything about it is powerful, from the expression to the framing.
jude14-Dec-2004 03:12
The knitted brow ... the focus on the arm - it's the details that make this image so good.
Guest 13-Dec-2004 05:36
Dude, good shot!

WOW! Yea...what Donna said!

Everybody already pretty much said what I wish to express. I like as well where you are positioned in this photo. The angles only add to the power that streams from this picture. I agree with Donna... This is your best SP yet. Incredibly well composed. Very powerful and it is steering emotions.

Great photo (I'm not even going to attempt to do a better job than Donna Lear did in describing it).
Guest 13-Dec-2004 00:46
Chris this is brilliant. IMHO, art is one of those things that doesn't define as much as it asks questions... This is provocative, and edgy, with many layers. Well conceived, and photographed.

Vote.

Very nice. I really like the lighting here.
Donna Lear13-Dec-2004 00:15
Absolutely phenominal on so many levels, Chris. There is such strength in this and yet, at the same time, in a posture that seems protective, the sense of vulnerability that created the determination to be unconquerable. I like the black and white angles - where you are positioned, the predominance of your tattoo and your right hand. It is an emotionally stirring photo. You've done many self portraits that I've thought were very good, but this is, perhaps, your strongest yet.

I'm running out of words to describe photos. For some reason there are some that just seem delicious, like I can taste them, like a texture I can feel with my teeth. Crazy, but this seems like one of those images. Jeanne's and jude's also feel that way quite often.

Powerful image. Great depiction of the letter "U."
