29th August

Spent most of the day at Bute International Airport
watching a few guys from Recovair try to take the wings off the crashed plane,
with the plane being ? years old and French it was abit of a challenge for them,(it was held togetther with glue!!)
they ended up taking most of it to pieces heheh (it can be put back togetther though)
the words 'bloody' and 'french' were angrily shouted out quite a few times ;-)

when they recovered it from the field where it landed
they noticed that someone had smashed 1 of the rear windows
and removed the fire extinguisher(that was later found by another plane pilot)
so the police came and took a look and later on the finger print cops from Glasgow came to dust for prints too,
I wasn't sure if i was allowed to take pics of him dusting so didn't...

the Recovair guys drained about 4 cans full of fuel so they didn't get away with much...

Was told that the fuel had been drained out of it as well!!
We really will see cars flying through the town now!!

More great reportage... (and how does Ray know all this stuff...?!)!
Robin Reid30-Aug-2007 04:56
And Ray is certainly a suppository of information!

Utterly fascinating... thanks for reporting from the scene.

They do look very important, probably all wishing they could have one of
these in their backyard!

I hope they didn't do more damage to the aircraft than the accident did.

Bute sounds very crime ridden... you should consider moving to London :-)
Nicki Thurgar29-Aug-2007 20:20
