19th July

I was stumped for an idea for a pic
until the council came by and decided to kill this tree today.

I'm no tree hugger, I wont be chaining myself to any Land Rovers either
but this tree was doing no one any harm,
ok it didn't have any leaves on it like the other ones near by
but that was because the same council came and hacked it to pieces last summer
thinking they were doing good.
This tree has appeared in many of my pics, here, for example
why they decided to just chop it down today in the pouring rain is anyones guess.

They do that here all the time too. It baffles me. Our utility company doesn't usually remove them, they just chop them to bits and leave them to die on their own. And then there are people who move here from the city to be in the "country", then tear out all the trees around them. Ugh!

At least you've got some pics to remember it by.

Varmits, couldn't find something better to do. I am a colossal tree hugger.

Maybe they were hoping that would stop you catching them in the act.

The danger on such a crowded pathway....LOL !!

lets hope they replace it, save the trees

It must have been a health and safety issue, maybe they were afraid that one day it might have leaves on, which would then fall and create a slippery surface, can't have such dangers, it had to go.

It is for his fire maybe...

They've done it just to spite you Zak.

You can actually see where the roots run under the pavement.
Maybe they will be back to dig up the pavement and road soon.

Must have been coming up to budget time. Need to spend some cash!

That is a shame. I'm not a tree hugger either, but I do believe live healthy trees should be left alone!

Must have spoiled somebody's view...
