My grandfather was head gardener in the early 1900's. His family stayed in one of the yellow cottages at the left. Two of my aunts were born there. I also had my 21'st birthday party there.
Between the early 1900's and the beginning of the second war, the hotel was the place to stay in if you were a member of the yachting fraternity. The hotel never recovered after the war ended. I hope they find some use for the building. It would be a shame to demolish it.
