Keep photographing these boat lifts, you may get an exclusive one day! A sailing friend of mine goes white every time I point him at these pics, saying it is the riskiest way to move a boat between land and water - he says the chances of a sling slipping are really high, and there's no stopping it once started. A look at YouTube suggests he might know what he is talking about. I think the guys on Bute look pretty skilful.
