Never get tired of seeing the Kyles of Bute & the wee ferries. When I was a kid the Rhubodach ferries hauled themselves across this stretch of water using chains that were tethered on either side of the crossing. Or were they propeller driven and the chains stopped the ferries from drifting with the current? Does anybody know?
