This is the main artery of the city,once flanked by porticoes of which over 500 columns still exist,many of which still have their capitals.Originally Ionic in style and dating to the first century AD it was rebuilt in Corinthian style a century later,The intersection points with the two decumani were marked by four-sided arches.
