one fell from a bathroom ceiling in a campground and bit me on my neck chest area ,it scared me to death because they look so vicious but it stung a little caused a welt the size of a mosquito bite and by the end of the day forgot about it. looked it up cause i was worried because of the looks of the thing.

Not at all...in fact, they shouldn't even cause any problems for people with allergies since they aren't stinging or injecting anything - they only bite in defense (they usually don't even bite...I've handled them alot).

These guys have popped up everywhere since hurricane IKE and I was bit by one. Are the poisonous?

These little guys get around. Enjoy them - they're harmless, make beautiful webs, and eat other bugs!

I have found these in my yard in Sulphur (Lake Charles area), Louisiana.

They're quite interesting, and basically harmless. They say that they may bite defensively, and not that painfully, but I've handled them alot and never been bothered by them - and they rarely appear bothered by me!
