A roman aqueduct dated back to the 1st century AD; built over the river Gard. Part of the aqueduct that supplies water to Nimes. The first level has a road which we can walk across, and the top level is a water conduit. The aqueduct was built without mortar.... it seems to work very well and have withstood floods and storms (etc..) over the centuries. More than just impressive!!
