Crete (6-14 Sept 2009)

Spent a week exploring Crete island. I didn't manage to cover the whole island. Missed the West and Southeast. Seafood, souvlaki, gyro pita, tsasiki, stunning scenaries, and beautiful beaches.... and crazy drivers.
Spent 2 days in Heraklion, then drove to Sfakion (in the south), hiked the Samaria Gorge, then headed to Matala (south but east of Sfakion), Sitia (on the east side of Crete) and Vai beach which is on the extreme end on the northeast. Then back to Heraklion.
