The Dark Lady

The best shot I've ever got of this rose. I took the shot on an overcast day, that seems to be the trick for this particular rose.

Its a David Austin.

One of my favourite roses! For some reason she never offered any flowers this year. Looking at yours is a good compensation. I only miss the fragrance! You really captured the texture of the petals and the ripe colour with its hints of purple. Vote!

Yes, great shot, and very sharp. The red channel soon becomes saturated in bright sun, so I also find it's best to shoot reds on overcast days. V

Rita's fave !! The exposure is showing the blue in the makeup quite distinctly.

It's a wonderful shot. I have a friend who photographs wildflowers, and he says overcast days are best. I'd always thought I needed sunny days :)
