This tree is out on our road verge, not far from our front gate...it flowers at this time of year, I believe its a hybrid of ficifolia and something else.
Across the road
from us a neighbour has a whole row of ficifolia in flower and they are breathtakingly
beautiful to see at this time of year,
though not quite up to their usual standard this January-February most probably the lack of rainfall during spring has stressed many
of the eucalypt trees throughout the hills. They totally rely on rainfall and we are
well below the average.
The only ficifolia we have growing, and we planted ourselves, is a pale apricot and not very inspiring, I've never photographed it because of its
location, I worry about snakes in the horse paddock which has this particular windbreak.
