Fire Trail

At home

This is all we can see of the damage caused by the bush (wild) fire, see next.
I walked down to the horse paddock fence to get this photo. We were so lucky
that day that there was hardly any wind, otherwise the fire could have been catastrophic.
We watched from our balcony as the flames tore up the hillsides, following a fenceline
of neighbours both sides of us, completely missing our property, though there may be
a fence post or two that got burnt. Its a bit beyond Dick to walk up that hill
now he's about to turn 80. Merlin the foal and his sire in the foreground.

Excellent shot to show the path of the fire and what a close call it was. Now all peaceful again. V

I can not imagine to live with those awful fire attacks. I love so much to see the paddock with your beautiful horses...
Thanks god you have been spared!!

Looks so peaceful now with the two horses. Thankfully the fire was put out quickly and did not do much damage. Fire season always makes me nervous here. "V"

Beautiful countryside, but with some dangerous conditions, gladly you where not affected. I know from here where I live the threat in summer of wildfires! V

Those paddocks and hills are parched and charred and a harsh reminder of the terrors in our beautiful country. Thankfully you were spared Yvonne and all will be green again before too long. Actually a lovely and telling composition. V

But, at first pass, simply a charming and quintessentially Aussie composition... until we look more closely to spot the charred ground in mid-distance.

We all know what results can come of our fires...it's good that the fire fighters were on hand quickly.

Always a scary thought with the closeness of the wildfire.

Good that you have efficient fire fighters - very scary ! Nice peaceful scene now :) V
