Calibrachoa "Fireworks"

At home in the rose garden.

A mixture of colours. I'd only just replanted the pot that sits on the outdoor table
in the gazebo.. sitting down with my mug of freshly brewed coffee when out of the
rose garden a snake emerged just a few feet from mine... a very venomous variety that
exist in our area but is rarely seen. Luckily I had my mobile phone in my pocket
and could phone Dick to alert him to keep Flossie inside while a snake was passing
through. Jack Russells are known for attacking reptiles, mice and rats, but
a bite from this type of snake could kill her unless we got her to a vet promptly. We
then worked out the safest way for me to return to the house without going near
the snake which had disappeared into the nepeta that grows on the edges of the main
pathway to the gazebo. Flossie is now having a short holiday with our daughter until
we're sure the snake has moved away.

Gosh. Lucky you spotted the snake.
Will it definitely move on? It won't decide to set up housekeeping in a flower-bed??

Gorgeous blooms Von...nasty experience for you hope it has gone on its way now...we had one in our garden last year but it wasn't a venomous one and our builders that were doing the garden managed to catch it and Peter and I took it into the woods...but I don't like snakes and happy to say it's not often we see them in the garden...BV

Quite the experience/ I love snakes, but fortunately here we don't have to contend with any venomous ones. Good thing you saw it in time. Love this image, by the way! V

Love that 'odd one out' floral addition to the image!

Beautiful picture but the snake story pales it. I am so afraid of snakes and our poisonous ones are coming out now.

Interesting story of this potentially deadly encounter. Beautiful image with a dream like glow. "V"

Wow..danger in paradies! This is scaring to me, then I cannot stand snakes and spiders. This is like you need to carry a revolver with all the times, while in your garden. Regardless this is a nice shot, almost like in springtime! V.
