Gloire Lyonnaise

An old hybrid perpetual that I haven't photographed before because I couldn't reach it where it resides in my rose garden.
Having this new lens allowed me to get this photo, its actually two blooms.
According to my book its very fragrant, but I've never picked the rose or given it a whiff to find that out.
The rose dates from 1885 & was bred in France by Guillot.

Is this pure white or a pale lemony colour? How nice that you've been able to photograph it at last.

Wonderful exposure. This reminds me very much of a rose my father grew. I never knew the name of it (and wanted to find another) and it was destroyed when the Corps of Engineers destroyed the house and gardens.

Lovely with the different shades of colour in the white rose.

Great exposure on the white. It is a beautiful rose.
