We have a small flock of these visit from time to time. They used to time
their visit to a row of acacia which set seed at this time of year; but now
they call in to decimate a pine tree that has tasty seed in the cones.
This gallery features just one cockatoo on a branch of a tree we can see from our
lounge room window and balcony, the bird flew with this heavy cone in the beak
and settled on a branch and systematically ate the seed from the cone.
This is a superb series of the Yellow Tail. They are a very large bird so although the pine cone would be quite heavy he seems to have managed it quite easily. Each image is very well detailed, fantastic work! V Barbara
