"A Painted Surface"
A painting by me from the 70's when I painted in oils with a painting knife
I used to like painting in abstract as you can see from this entry. I
enjoyed playing around with digital Photoshop..:)

"Something Sticky"
A pot of honey, and some on a slice of toasted bread made by Dick yesterday, and
it was the last slice left. I have been without a computer all day until our
son-in-law came and got it up and running again - we're so lucky eh!

"A tree or palm leaf"
This is similar to the Eucalyptus sideroxylon that grows up by our front gate, we have 5 of these growing
along our front fence among other trees.. we have a very long front fence.
The flowers of the sideroxylon are pretty, pink and white, and I love the textured
black bark. I have planted other sideroxylon in other parts of the garden as well, which this is. When the
various parrots visit the tree in flower there is often a carpet of blossoms under the trees.

"A Glass of Something"
This is a double shot soy latte, I made it myself in my coffee machine and
I enjoy it while working on my crossword.. the glass is double glazed.

"A Wind Chime"
More of a shadow play that caught my eye yesterday when we had some sunshine.
We have 2 hanging on our west side balcony and they indicate when the wind
blows from the north-west.. in mono (tinted slightly blue) ..
That is a little blue fairy wren pictured on the wind chime.

"Our Australian Flag"
Featured on a local memorial to the fallen, celebrated on ANZAC Day, though
this photo was taken a week or so ago. Today has been cool, dark and damp
and is now raining - typical for the 25th of April.
24-APR-2017
"Our Currency"
I had a problem with this topic, Photoshop would not allow me to edit currency notes
but I overcame that by taking a photo from a distance, then cropping so that
the entire note wasn't featured, and I removed the numbers from both notes
that I featured here. I think others have had a similar problem.
21-APR-2017
"Street Advertising/Billboard"
I think this counts as a "Billboard", it is installed at this intersection each
year to advertise our area's celebration of ANZAC day, held annually on the 25th
of April. Best viewed in original format. Note the litter from the eucalyptus trees,
although "evergreen" they drop leaves, bark, twigs year round, they're very messy trees.
22-APR-2017
"Something Cold"
Ice to cool yourself down when the temperatures climb.
21-APR-2017
"A Yellow Car"
Well, not exactly a car... but it is yellow and it was parked around the corner from
where we live and has been there for 3 days now. I assume some road works may be
about to begin on our road very soon.

"A Candid Photo of a Stranger"
I had my zoom lens on during the picnic and captured this photo of a young
lad watching our family playing on the oval, possibly wondering if he
could join in. Unfortunately my camera started playing up at this point
and I changed over to the little Lumix for the rest of the picnic. I'll
have to try and work out the problem before I use that lens on the cam next.
16-APR-2017
"Something Sweet"
A dear little girl-dog named "Honey" who hardly left her mummy's lap the
whole duration of the picnic.

"Something or someone cute"
I thought watching a 3 year old working out how to open her Easter Egg was
rather cute, hope you think so too... she was determined to get on top
of this task with the reward being chocolate!
16-APR-2017
"Easter Eggs"
Not exactly singular... there were 2 large buckets of these to be spread over
a large section of the oval - then the children were let loose to collect as
many as they could. Its a yearly event in our family, though our actual
grand children are late teens/early twenties, there are friends & relations who still
have children young enough to enjoy this event.
We've had a busy few days, hope to do some catching up on commenting tonight!
15-APR-2017
"Close To Home"
Very close to home, its one of our holding paddocks, and at this time of year
there is only wild scabious and some late summer grasses growing here. After
the big rains, when they come, this area will turn green!
15-APR-2017
"Your Reflection"
Well, I could see a reflection of me when I sat outside with my crossword and coffee
but I decided the sepia suited the image better, so you can't see that I'm wearing
a purple top, but I am there leaning towards one of the rails. The pot with
the reflection has just been replanted and positioned on the outside table on
one of our balconies.
14-APR-2017
"A shoe/sandal/slipper"
It'll soon be time to put these away until next summer... but today the temperature
reached 25dC and it will stay this temperature over the Easter break.
12-APR-2017
"Family Treasure"
We often refer to our little Flossie as "Our Little Treasure" so I think she fits the bill okay
for this subject...but she isn't the easiest to photograph these days... as soon as she
sees the camera she refuses to pose, so this was the best I could manage.
11-APR-2017
"A fruit seed or stone"
I hope this qualifies.... a rose hip is related to the apple, and the hip has
seeds inside. They are viable when mature. Being autumn here, we have rose
hips aplenty right now, varying from red, orange, green, yellow and black.
This hip belongs to the rose called "Nevada" a modern shrub rose bred in Spain,
and released in 1927.

"Decorative Wall Art"
Well - we have our own private art gallery here, the grandchildren's art adorns
our every door.. and here is one from Kindergarten years, finger painting by
one of our grandsons - who by the way is now 19, but still shows off his "art" when he
brings a friend with him for a meal here.
Best seen in original format... I have photoshopped it a little bit.

"A Hobby Item"
Actually 2 of my hobbies featured in this entry, gardening and photoshopping a photo...
The article worked on today is a branch of my Ginkgo tree which is just starting
to turn colour for autumn.. but I've done some photoshopping starting with mono, a tint
and a few other filters - a lovely time playing indoors because it is too cold to
be outside with winds straight off the south pole!

"An Outdoor House or Garden Decoration"
My gazebo in the rose garden - the climbers are now climbing back after the severe
prune we gave them last year before the gazebo had some repairs made.
Quite a few filters used and in mono with a slight tint of green.
08-APR-2017
"A Garden Seat or Bench"
We are well prepared for outdoor dining when the family comes to visit as
you can see from these stacks of chairs!
07-APR-2017
"Pink"
Not even one pink rose is in flower, but I did find this flower, Anemone x hybrida 'Pamina'
which is quite new, growing in a large pot with a tall fuchsia.

"Birds" in a "Tree"
A twofer including two options in one photo... was going to just have a tree, but
the lorikeets stayed put long enough for me to take a few photos of them in
the seed dish They are "almost" tame, but not tame enough for me to come too
close with a camera, and I didn't have the zoom lens attached.
02-APR-2017
"Hands"
I hope this okay to include 2 hands instead of one! Our youngest graduating
back in the early 1990's, definitely an archive, probably taken with our old
film Nikkormat (Nikon) from 1970, and scanned by one of our family. A fellow graduate probably
took the photo with our camera seeing we're actually IN this shot, looking quite
a bit younger.. Processed recently by me in photoshop.
04-APR-2017
"Smile"
Three-year-old with an 8 week old pup - a Labradoodle, and she couldn't stop smiling!
The pup belongs to our eldest granddaughter and the little 3-yo was visiting
especially to see the brand new pup the day it arrived in the pups new family.

"A Book Cover"
Released back in 2008 and now out of print, this book is special to me
at least... I supplied most of the photos for it. You can guess that
its about roses :)
02-APR-2017
"A Board Game"
Our son Michael and I used to play this when he was studying for matric
back in the late 1980's...it was great fun and a lovely memory for me.
Photo was taken today.

"An Old Family Photo"
My first photo for this new Challenge was taken about 54 years ago by me,
it is of our first born Sonja wearing her first bikini.
