A set of photos I took on a trip to Andhra Pradesh the state in the South of India. The places I visited include the Kalahasti temple, the KBR national park, Hussai Sagar, and the cities of Hyderabad and Vijaywada. The Kalahasti temple was built by the great sage Patanjali, who is known today as the Father of Modern Yoga and the celebrated author of the book The Yoga Sutras, which is known for Ashtanga yoga of yama, niyama, asana, dharana, dhyana, pratyahara and samadhi. The temple is said to be connected to the Badrinath temple in the North, in the Himalayas. Legends apart, and putting aside the fact that Badrinath is 2000 miles away, the fact remain that Badrinath is only 1000 years old, and was established by Adi Shankaracharya to the God Vishnu, near the Kedarnath temple. Badrinath is counted today among the Chardham or four sacred places, the others being Rameshwaram, Dwaraka and Puri.
