Anne: Regretfully, earlier this summer I read of the untimely death of the Obsidian mother bear as a result of being hit by a car. How sad! Mother Nature's roll in the big scheme isn't always pleasing to us (not to suggest that cars and nature have anything to do with each another). But that bear, her cubs, and your photos of them have lightened my spirits several times in the last year. Thanks for sharing everything in this gallery. Regards, pbase id yogib

Anne, I particularly like the compositions on some of your close ups. The birds are fantastic, my special area of interest since I have so many in my back yard. Thanks for the pics of the owls, they are my favorites but they are very illusive and hard to see during the day. I still enjoy their hooting early in the morning. Thanks for sharing your incredible pics. Patti

Browsing through your gallery has been a real treat. Last fall I spent most of a day wandering around near the highway in the Lamar Valley. I wasn't lucky (or otherwise did something wrong), for the most spectacular sights that day were the lenses on the cameras of a photo tour group from Illinois. Anywhere in Yellowstone is still high on my favorites list of places to visit. I'd bet the twin bears were near Obsidion Cliffs(sp). Thanks a lot for sharing these photos. anne, my friend elvin was a photographer for many years at the post. he took some incredible news shots and is among the best as a photojournalist. i have been on several backpacking trips with him, after which he always sends me some pics via email. he also goes up to your favorite haunts in yellowstone frequently. after looking at this montage of your work i think i should hook old elvin up with you so he can learn a few things. your wildlife photography is among the best i have ever seen on the web (or otherwise). thank you for sharing this link with me. and thank you for allowing me to share your special view of nature with others via DPO over the past two years. it just goes to show what happens when someone follows her heart. -- ric
