The Balaton is the largest freshwater lake in Central Europe. The
pleasant warmth of the water soothes the body and spirit. The average
depth is a mere three to four meters. Consequenly the water warm quickly
to 20 to 22 deqrees and occasionally reaches even 28 degrees. The lake
is surrounded with beautiful scenery and good hotels with cheaper room cost.
