Our daughter treated us to dim sum lunch at the Princess Garden @ Mayfair. It’s one of my favorite Chinese restaurants. Its quieter and less crowded than, says, Royal China and those in the China Town. After lunch we went to the Oxford Street branch of Lloyds Bank for Maggie to close her account. It took nearly 45 minutes as she had first to withdraw cash from the 1/F counter and then lined up again at the ground customer services to close her account. Then we went to the Westfield Shopping Centre @ White City/Shepherds Bush. It was opened on 30 October 2008. The centre is noted for its size with a retail floor area of 150,000m² (1.615m ft²), the equivalent of about 30 football pitches. It is said to be London’s largest shopping centre (overtaking the Centrale in Croydon), the third largest shopping centre in the United Kingdom. Upon leaving the White City Underground Station Michelle discovered that she had left her sunglasses behind at the Lloyds Bank. When I returned there to look for the girl (Susan) handling the account closure, she’d already left (she worked only on Saturday and until 15:00 so I was told). And I missed Michelle’ s call telling me to contact the branch manager James who had her glasses as I neglected to reset my mobile ring tone after inserting a UK sim card. So she has to go there next Satudray for the glasses. After two hours plus window shopping (the last stop was Hollister, an American outlet which is quite popular with the locals) we dined at Westfield’s food court around 20:00 (the place closed on Saturday at 21:00). I got Lebanese lamb wrap (not bad) from Comptoir Libanais; and Michelle the Vietnamese vermicelli and some vegetable (so so). We took Bus C1 back to the Victoria Station.
