We checked out after breakfast and walked to the tram station and travelled to the peak tram station across the river. We again bought a day pass for Kč100 or US$6.41) each which allows us unlimited travel on all forms of public transport including bus, tram and subway. After 20 plus minutes wait we got into the peak tram for the Petřín Observation Tower. The 60m high (299 steps), octagonal observatory tower, built as an imitation of the Eiffel Tower was constructed as one of the attraction on the occasion of the Jubilee Exhibition in 1891. It offers a good view of the Prague skyline.

We took the peak tram back to foot of the Petřín Hill and had our lunch at the Café Savoy, a very traditional restaurant with a fabulous interior and a listed neo-Renaissance ceiling offering exquisite Czech cuisine from the end of the 19th century and said “served with a French nobleness or whatever it means”. The roasted duck in honey (Kč275 or US$18 approximately) which we ordered was delicious. Though don’t order the crème brûlée which was mediocre and relative expensive @ Kč190.

After the lunch we strolled along the riverside stopping at various spots e.g. Museum Kampa, Kafka Museum (and the hilarious peeing men), the narrowest street in Prague (you need to press the traffic light button and wait for the green light before you can travel from one end to the other) Dancing House by Frank Gehry (use some imagination and you can visualize seeing Fred Astaire dancing with Ginger Rogers) etc before heading back to the hotel for our luggage. Then we took the subway and then airport bus to the airport thus ending our very enjoyable stay in Prague.
