I took the photos with either Canon EOS 1D Mk III + 70-200/f4 IS (KMK’s) or Nikon D200 + 17-35/f2.8.
We stayed at Michelle’s service apartment which is in the Jing An District. Its very convenience since there’re MTR and Airbus depot (RMB19 one way #2).
On Day 2 (Oct 17) we spent the morning loitering around in the Jing An Park. And we paid RMB6 (for 2) for the 8 Sceneries. There’s nothing much to see as most of them are either gone or just replica. Oh Maggie did play Taichi and I stretching exercise for 20 minutes; very relaxing. (Photo 1 – 23)
On Day 3 (Oct 18) we went to Pudong to have lunch with Michelle (her office is located at the Jin Mao Building) at the Super Brand Mall (Ding Tai Fung Dumpling Restaurant). And I bought three books (Chinese version) on photography including Robert Capa’s “Slightly Out of Focus”. (Photo 24 – 39)
In the morning of Oct 19 we went to tour the Jade Buddha Temple ( http://www.travelchinaguide.com/attraction/shanghai/jade_temple.htm). There’re two jade Buddha statues, the Sitting and the Recumbent which was donated in the Qing Dynasty by an overseas Chinese from Burma. The former one (sitting) is really a beautiful piece of art; though unfortunately photography is not allowed. (Photo 40 – 59)
In the afternoon we went to the People Square. After a quick lunch at the Raffles Centre (Photo 60), we visited the Shanghai Museum. There’re so many things to see (including Titian to Goya painting from the Prado Museum). Though we have to go around 16:30 to beat the after office hour traffic (the MTR can be very, very crowded). The next two days we were in Nanjing (Photos to follow) and we went to the Westgate Mall @ Nanking West Road (opposite to Isetan and 66 Plaza etc) on the last day (Oct 22) before heading back to Hong Kong. (Photo 108)
