Morning of May 24, 2011 and Ready to go!
The bike is packed and ready to go. Sorry for the poor iPhone picture, but I had packed the cameras and didn't want to dig them out. The weather appeared nice, but this was the only picture I have for my first day of riding to Amarillo, as I encountered a VERY windy day with gusts up to 50 MPH!!! There was a lot of blowing sand, and it also seemed that every farmer decided to plow their fields that day, so a lot of dust too. I heard there were tornadoes in Oklahoma!

Windmills in Texas
The heavy winds caused a two-hour delay on my first day, so I stayed in a hotel in Amarillo instead of camping out. The next day I headed out of Texas towards the northeast corner of New Mexico on highway 87 and saw some windmills in the panhandle of Texas.
