Petoskey is a small Lakeside Resort Community. We spent about an walking hour in the downtown area. We then stopped for lunch at Glen Arbor, where the main attraction is the "Cherry Spitting Arena". Glen Arbr is considered to be the "Cherry Republic", where many Cherry Trees abound in the outlying areas. Cherry Spitting is a community and tourist sport to see who can spit the cherry pits the farthest.

After lunch, we visited Fort Michilamackinac in Mackinaw City.
When you step into this 18th century fort and fur trading village, you will see history revealed right before your eyes. A team of professional archaeologists are on site between June 6 – August 22 excavating remains of the village. The Fort has been reconstructed on its original site.
