Daniel von Allmen
is an Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of North Carolina.
He received his undergraduate degree from Williams College in 1980 and his medical
degree from the University of Vermont in 1986. He trained in general surgery at the University of Cincinnati and in pediatric surgery at the Childrens Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati. He has held faculty positions at the University of Pennsylvania and UNC. Dr. von Allmen is currently chief of the Division of Pediatric Surgery at UNC and is the Surgeon-in-Chief of the North Carolina Childrens Hospital. His clinical
interests are in the surgical treatment of pediatric inflammatory bowel disease, surgical oncology, and the use of minimally invasive surgical techniques. His research interests are in the development of advanced surgical technologies and surgical robotics.
