Colors (Updated 1/10)

We are blessed here on the east side of the Cascades. We have forests, lakes, rivers, mountains,
Crater Lake and open ranch lands. Each season has its own colors and sights.

Last night my son surprised me by coming from Texas for a weeks visit. He took us to Pizza to meet with a bunch of his friends and family. When we came out, we had another thunderstorm with 2 rainbows.

The golden sunsets are from the fields being burned all around the basin. It does make it pretty though.

I liked the seed pods on this bare tree. It was the view I saw leavng work tonight.

The view I saw this morning while driving my granddaughter to school at 7:30 am. The challenge was something you do between 6-9am.

This time of year out here in the ranch lands, the ranchers burn their fields to ready them for planting. The smoke makes the already spectacular sunsets even more so.

This was taken from Stateline Road, the border between California and Oregon. It crosses right along the border in the Lower Klamath Wildlife Refuge.

This house was deserted by a man that lost his wife and son in one year. He walked out, leaving the doors open in the 40's. The woods are reclaiming the house.

This barn was set out in a field in Ft. Klamath. I liked the red of the barn, with the green of the grass and blue of the summer sky.

This ranch picture is a rerun from 2003. I took a spill and cracked a couple of ribs, so I'm a bit grounded for a few days. I'll try to get some photos in the house. :-)

My job partner and I had to drive out to Sprague River.  Pelican Butte is in the background. This is a very rural community about 40 miles from Klamath Falls.

Another scene from the show pond at the hatchery. They have rainbow trout and German brown trout here. Eventually they are released into the lakes and streams for fishermen. They also have Steelhead Salmon.

We went for a picnic at the fish hatchery. The kids fed the fish pellets for fish out of a quarter machine.
