Tortuguero, Costa rica

Our cemeteries are above the ground because of the periodic flooding (like New Orleans!). This tiny cemetery is near the soccer field.

Somehow these graves have a lot less somber look to them. Beautifully constructed and maintained.

They use these types of graves in many South Pacific islands - especially Rarotonga / the Cook Islands.
