Our Cultural Heritage

The Eastern side of Oregon, is as different as any large city versus rural. We have real ranchers, Hispanic folks that have brought us parts of their traditions (mostly hands growing potatoes or helping with the dairies or cattle spreads). We have inherited customs from the pioneers (Irish and Czechoslovakian) that settled this area and each wave of settlers brought their own ways of life. The Applegate Trail went right through our area, linking the Oregon Trail with California. We have many Native Americans living here from before any of the other folks arrived.
