Houston, The Woodlands, Texas

This is the fourth largest city in the US, with a population of almost 2 million. The
Houston-Galveston-Brazoria Consolidated Metropolitan Statistical Area (Houston CMSA) is larger than
New Jersey, so you can imagine how big Texas is. Houston is home to the Texas Medical Center, the
largest medical center in the world, with a local economic impact of $10 billion. More than 52,000
people work within its facilities, which encompass 21 million square feet. Altogether 4.8 million
patients visit them each year.

Houston's theater district is only second to New York, and there are more than 11000 restaurants. It isn't a great tourist city with Nasa being one of the few tourist spots, but it is certainly a great city to live in. The cost of living is much lower than other big US cities and the housing costs are much lower than other metropolitan cities.

The Woodlands is a suburb north of Houston and has almost 90000 people. It is the new developing
community with malls and fun for the family and high end facilities for the corporations. Baker
Hughes has its headquarters here, so does Chicago Bridge & Iron Company N.V. (CBI) which has its
World Administrative office here. Hewitt Associates has a big facility and Chevron is moving in.

Houston, has a substantial Indian population, with almost 400000. The Meenakshi temple in Pearland
is one of the prettiest Hindu temples outside of India and the Swaminrayan temple is beautiful and
less of a bother to get into than the one in New Delhi. In all the Houston area, is great to live in and good to visit for a few days.
