Alfred Benjamin Kame'eiamoku Rodrigues (born, Feb 7, 1920)
On Sunday morning, December 7, 1941 Al had watch and was on duty when he heard about the USS Ward dropping depth charges on an unidentified submarine. As he saw the "Rising Suns" on the wings of incoming planes, he was given 0.30 caliber rifle and he started shooting at the planes. He says that they were low enough that he could see the faces of the pilots. He lived through to tell us all his tale today.
Allen Bondelos (born August 13, 1920)
On December 6th Allen was sent to Honolulu to buy instruments for the 804th New Drum and Bugle Corps. He was the Bugle Master. On the 7th morning he was returning by the Schofield shuttle back to base when all hell broke loose. Bullets whizzed past him and he dove for safety in a ditch. When he tried to return the second wave started and he saw the horror of Pearl Harbor unfold in front of his eyes.
